The only thing I dislike is the wall of water in the background. It looks like he is hovering on land and a tidal wave is coming at him, why would the water not be seen around him but you can see it behind him?

My point was you shouldn't have added the clear plates. I think you should remove those and add the clear plates on the landscape in different ways to simulate bubbles.

C3, you don't get it. The "clear wall" is used to represent the water holding up the bubbles. There's not really "greebles" here. It's more texture and landscape detail. Laughing

Besides, it's not really something anyone (other than Gecko) can through together. You need the imagination!

Good job, Gecko. This MOC's both awesome and simple!

Just a second comment, you really ought to put some more layering and landscaping on the ground. You just put on a bunch of plates, theres no groves, indentations, anything that is a sign of a good Moc. As of right now it would hardly hold up in the Guild nor do I understand how it got front paged.

Really though I think that the oiginality and just plain coolness of the way that he built the bubbles kinda make up for that, And remember theres not all that much you can do on an 8X8 plate Wink

I strongly disagree there is no limit to what you can do with 8x8 plate.

Maybe, But you can't fit as much detail in as youcould fit in to a 16X16 plate without giving it multiple layers which wouldn't suit this MOC. And its really Dutch and Hazards decision on what MOCs get frontpaged.

Did I say anything about it getting frontpaged in that sentence? I think not, once again you target specific areas which were mentioned a while ago, I didn't know we were politicians. Wink You may be able to fit more in a 16x16 but that doesn't change the fact there isn't enough detail in it.

Edit: He can fit much, much more detail without adding extra layers Wacky.

Alright, so I don't want to sound like an Idiot in defending my own MOC from people who might know more (Believe me, it can get dumb). But Darman, I would have a lot more respect for your advice if your MOCs displayed expertise in any way.

MOCing isn't just fitting as much detail as you can in one space, it gets distracting. Sometimes Less is More.

I'm not going to get into an argument over something so trivial though, so don't expect me to keep replying. Wink

Do I think I am a mocing expert? No, not at all go ask PhiMa if your looking for that. I'm just sharing my opinion and my opinion is that you ought to add more detail to the land scaping. Nor do I think Mocing involves just piling on detail I think you should meet 5 different expectations, more or less depending on what you are going for.

Being Consistent: Mainly meaning don't vary the thickness, it just makes it look worse.

Adding Detail: You shouldn't over do this, but add enough to make it realistic and better.

Land Scaping: Add levels of plates, tiles, Ect to add hills or different slopes.

Structure: This one I don't know much about so you shouldn't be asking me. Razz

This is just my opinion gecko, take in mind I don't have anything against you this just isn't my favorite Moc.
