The Empire had forced us to work non-stop, for ten years -- Ten long, painful, and agonizing years in the Mine Fields. We had had enough, and fought back. We rebelled. After our escape and rebel, war had erupted between them and us – The Brichstopian Rebels.
The desert is a harsh wasteland. There’s no water, no food, nor life what so ever. Only vultures and other scavengers watched and scurried around us. Survival was not an easy task to complete in this type of environment; especially with our twenty or some group of survivors. We had marched the deserts, looking for more survivors to increase our numbers. There were plenty who left on their own as refugees. Not everyone managed or wanted to stick together as we had done. But time is an uncontainable resource. Darkness shadowed our faces. The stars had begun to light in the endless skies of the Universe. Those who weren’t trained, which included most of the group except some of us and I, had begun to grow hunchback from walking. How long and how much we’ve walked is something I cannot answer, but I could tell it was time for a stop.
We set up a small camp. Built five shelters out of dead lumber we could find out in the open. The children and woman had been moved in first. I stayed outside with two of my best friends over the night. The three us were the best of the trained, at least from our group of survivors. We always had each other’s backs, never broke apart, never left anyone’s side. A trio of fighters, you could say. Everyone had already fallen asleep. There was no need to stay up any further. We laid our weapons along a small boulder, hidden in sand, and shut our eyes as we lay within a small fence we had built. My eyes were shut, but I was not yet asleep. I had a bad feeling about the others, and how we would find more to finally kill off the Empire, to regain our once peaceful ways. I cleared my mine, and finally went to bed.
The next morning, I woke up in shock. Gun shots and screaming were all I could here. No, not so soon. The Empire had tracked us down. I stood up as quickly as I could, and walked towards the noise. There, I saw my two colleagues firing at two Imperial Soldiers with heavy weapons. One threw a grenade, but it didn’t blow close enough to harm us. The second ran in close, but ‘Bloc’ had shot him with his rifle before any damage could be done by its heavy bazooka. I didn’t do anything; they were taken care of by my friends. What I wondered was, how? If the Empire is as strong as we think, they would have sent more after us. They would have been better trained than these two.
There is still hope. There is still a chance to defeat these bastards. A new order is arising, and they’re called the Brichstopians.
